Guided by the vision to “supply safe electricity to all human beings through innovations in wind energy”, Mr. Atsushi Shimizu, President u0026amp; CEO of Challenergy Inc. of Japan, invented and developed the Magnus Vertical Axis Wind Turbine (MAGNUS VAWT), the world’s first and only wind turbine that harnesses energy, not only from wind, but also from storms, continuously generating electricity even during typhoons.  The Magnus VAWT is designed to withstand winds of up to 340kph, and from various directions.    

Recognizing that the Philippines lie within the typhoon belt, and receives a high frequency of typhoon visits, Challenergy Inc. together with NAREDCO has formed Challenergy Philippines, Inc.,  to market and develop power projects in the country.
